Our Family
Dr. David Kells
was born in Oklahoma but moved frequently as his father was in the Air Force. He began elementary school in England (thus "British trained"). From fifth grade through medical school, he lived in Colorado, except for a two year hiatus as a missionary in Germany. His majors at the University of Colorado (Boulder) were chemistry and international affairs. After graduating from CU in 3 years, he received his MD from the University of Colorado (Denver). Dr. Kells' internship and residency were at Maricopa Medical Center. He then worked with a large multi-specialty group in Arizona for 14 years prior to establishing Boojum in 1998. Dr. Kells is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology. He has been practicing for 27 years. He is chair of the multidisciplinary Peer Review Committee at Chandler Regional Hospital and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. His interests include sports, exercise and weight training, cooking and collecting art. He has five children aged 17 to 28 and two grandchildren.
Janice Bovee
was born and raised in Arizona, although she has since then spent time in Washington State. She received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Eastern Arizona College in 1977, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Arizona in 1990 and a Masters Degree in Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998. Janice graduated from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky in 1998. She is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives. She is a mother of two and currently has five grandchildren. Her greatest joys in life include taking care of pregnant mothers, doing their deliveries, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Venessa Thompson
was born in Iowa where she spent her formative years. She also lived in Tucson, Sacramento and Seattle. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1999 from Grand View College in Des Moines Iowa after which she worked in L&D at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. In 2003 she graduated from ASU with a Master of Science in Nursing and Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She has been working as a nurse practitioner since graduation. She currently resides in Chandler with her eleven year old daughter. Her interests include traveling, triathlons, and reading all types of fiction books.
Cara Germaineour ultrasound tech was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She attended Gateway Community College in Phoenix Arizona and recieved an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Radiology/Ultrasound in 1994. Cara has been married for 26 years and has four daughters. Her hobbies are sports and playing with her bulldog.
